Media Psychology

In our Media Psychology programme, you learn how the media and our ever-increasing use of technology affects how we perceive, interpret, respond and interact with the world around us. There is strong theoretical basis to this challenging programme.

During this intensive programme you encounter topics such as mass media and mass persuasion, cognitive psychology and psychological effects of media, and of course social media and the Internet. Courses of this programme may be combined with other courses within the Creative Business or Sustainability curriculum.

Our minor Media Psychology aims to explain how the media and the growing use of technology impact on how people perceive, interpret, respond and interact in a media-rich world. The purpose of this course is to expose you to the fascinating, ever-changing and in many cases addictive media environment.

Teaching format and methods include lectures, tutorials and group tasks and assignments.
