Anna van Spanje studied psychology at Utrecht University, followed by a research master Development and Socialisation in Childhood and Adolescence. She then worked as a researcher at the Rey Juan Carlos University in Madrid, where she also obtained her doctorate (2014).
Upon her return to the Netherlands, Anna worked as a project officer and later as a senior policy officer at the Research Centre for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
Anna has now been working at the HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht since the beginning of 2017 as a researcher for the Research group Youth. She is also involved in various educational programmes (including Ecological Pedagogy and Social Work) as a graduation supervisor and client. The themes of youth, society and health (combined or separate) are central to Anna's work.
