Babette Everaers has been conducting doctoral research at the Research Group Innovations in Preventive care since 2016. In 2009 she graduated from the Dental Hygiene degree programme. She then followed the Global Health research master (VU Amsterdam) and completed her graduation internship at the Academic Center for Dentistry Amsterdam (ACTA).
On 1 April 2016, she began with her doctoral research project PRIMa mouth CARE. Babette's research line ties in closely with the Om U-project, which was developed within the Nationaal Programma Ouderenzorg (NPO). This project distinguishes (potentially) vulnerable elderly people who pass through general practitioner’s practices and provides proactive care to this group. The PRIMa mouth CARE project adds oral health to various phases of the Om U-process.
"In the PRIMa mouth CARE project, we investigate to what extent oral health contributes to a better prediction of vulnerability in elderly people living at home"
