Christine Bleijenberg (1968) has been a lecturer-researcher for the Research group Communication in Digital Transition since January 2012.
The common thread in Christine's career has been her interest in communication in the public domain and the relationship between citizens and government. She worked as a communications consultant for the municipality of Rotterdam and various consultancy firms in the field of governance & organisation, among others. A major component of her work was to conduct research among citizens into their image of local government and politics, citizen participation and interactive policy.
After several years of working in the field, Christine is now taking on a more in-depth and scientific approach to public domain issues. This year she will be completing her doctoral research into the development and effect of conversations between citizens and local government, within the context of civic participation.
