Evert-Jan Velzing PhD has been researching (industrial) innovation, sustainability and innovation policy since 2008. At HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht, Evert-Jan conducts research into circularity in industry and construction and circular economics in general.
Evert-Jan Velzing is a researcher and lecturer. He coordinates and develops education in tandem with research. He teaches Industrial Engineering & Management. Evert-Jan is a senior researcher at the Research Group Building Future Cities. As project leader, he is responsible for various national and European research projects. He also conducts research into circular business models, value chains and (chain) cooperation, circular use of materials and sustainable innovation at companies.
For more than 10 years, Evert-Jan has been studying the attention that society gives to industry. From 2009 to 2017, he worked at the Foundation for Industrial Policy and Communication (SIC). He obtained his doctorate in 2013, on the subject of industrial and innovation policy. He also worked as a policy consultant and as an organisational consultant for industrial companies.
