Karlijn Damen (1990) has been a junior researcher within the line of research ‘Kind met Beperkingen’ (‘Child with Disabilities’) of the Research group Lifestyle and Health since November 2018. She is mainly concerned with the development of a valid activity monitor for children (with or without disabilities).
Kitty graduated in the field of molecular (cell) biology (Applied Life Sciences). The techniques she uses for her research include culturing (stem) cells and molecular biological and biochemical techniques. During her graduation project she conducted research into the active mechanism of Pertussis Toxin, an important component in the whooping cough vaccine.
