Niels Nederlof works as a research assistant/junior researcher at the research group Meertaligheid & Onderwijs (Multilingualism and Education) at Hogeschool Utrecht (Utrecht University of Applied Sciences). He is involved in various research projects.
Niels simultaneously completed the bachelor programmes in Dutch Language & Culture and Linguistics at Utrecht University (UU). Niels then completed a Master's degree in Multilingualism & Language Acquisition (UU) cum laude. He uses and develops this broad linguistic base with great enthusiasm in the various research projects of the lectorate.

Multilingualism is often regarded as a problem or cause of disadvantage in education, while research shows that multilingualism can potentially have benefits in various ways. By exploring this potential and looking at how this potential can be utilized, Niels hopes to contribute to teaching and research practices.
