René van Dinten

Researcher

René van Dinten PhD has been a researcher at the Research group Process Innovation and Information Systems since September 2016. He is co-coordinator of the minor Business & Information Management. He is involved in research into strategy implementation, strategic alignment and performance management.

René has been affiliated with for HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht since 1997. For five years he was team leader for the (part-time) degree in Commercial Economics, and is currently a lecturer and researcher. He is the author of the textbook ‘Strategisch en Operationeel Performance Management’ (‘Strategic and Operational Performance Management’) (third issue, 2016), which is used in the Business Administration degree programme.

In 2013, he obtained his doctorate at Nyenrode Business University (strategy centre) with a dissertation entitled ‘Blokkades in het strategische alignmentproces’ (‘Blockades in the process of achieving strategic alignment’). Strategic alignment is a subject that is closely related to his primary areas of expertise: organisation and performance management. Prior to this, he studied commercial economics and obtained teaching qualifications to teach in primary education, as well as trade economics, and continuing education in practice.
