Saertje is a researcher at the Research group Innovative Testing in Life Sciences & Chemistry. She is involved in the development of animal-free testing methods in the field of intestinal health. In addition to her work as a researcher, she teaches Life Sciences at ILC.
Saertje has a lot of expertise in the field of molecular (cell) biology and signal transduction. The techniques she uses for her research include culturing (stem) cells and molecular biological and biochemical techniques. Saertje studied biology and obtained her doctorate with research on the role of certain molecules in the metastasis of breast cancer cells.
