All education and exams cancelled on Friday 13 March
The HU Crisis Management Team (CMT) has decided to cancel all educational activities (including tests) on Friday 13 March. Face-to-face education is cancelled until 31 March. This is related to the national measures taken by the Dutch government today.
On Friday 13 March the CMT will inform the students and employees of the HU about the coming days and weeks.
The open day of the HU on Saturday 14 March has of course also been cancelled. This also applies to all events and meetings with more than 100 visitors, which the HU would organise up to 31 March.
Of course, the health and safety of our students and employees is paramount. The HU strongly advises students and staff to adhere to the guidelines of RIVM and the cabinet.
- Everyone in the Netherlands: stay at home if you have a cold, cough, sore throat or fever. Avoid social contact. Do not call your doctor until complaints get worse.
- Meetings with more than 100 people are cancelled throughout the Netherlands. This also applies to public locations such as museums, concert halls, theaters, sports clubs and sports competitions.
- People throughout the Netherlands are called upon to work from home as much as possible or to spread working hours.
- The following applies to vulnerable persons: (the elderly and persons with reduced resistance) do not take part in large groups and/or public transport. In general, people are urged to limit visits to vulnerable people.
The new measures are entering a new phase that is affecting our education and research. The HU is working to resolve potential bottlenecks that may arise from these measures.
