The Healthbox

Fruit in a heartshaped box
People with metabolic syndrome have an increased risk on developing cardiac diseases. To prevent cardiac diseases, we develop The Healthbox, a virtual coach combined with telemonitoring devices which supports people in developing and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

The target population consists of people with metabolic syndrome and a lower socio-economic position.

The goal is to contribute to the prevention of cardiovascular disease through the HealthBox, specifically in people with metabolic syndrome and lower socioeconomic status. The HealthBox will have an accessible and user-friendly design so that it can be used by everyone.

  • The product itself: The healthbox. A personalized, eHealth intervention consisting of a virtual coach and telemonitoring devices for people with a lower socioeconomic position and metabolic syndrome.
  • Adequate, evaluated implementation strategies to use the the healthbox in daily practice.
  • A contribution to reducing health disparities in society.

The aim will be achieved by combining expertise from a healthcare perspective, with expertise from a design perspective, an end-user perspective and an IT perspective. Integration of these expertises will result in a personalized, inclusive, operational, evaluated and implemented healthbox.

The healthbox-project is funded by the NWO and is co-funded by part of the consortium partners.
