Marieke de Roos

Lecturer-researcher
Marieke works within the Co-design research group on the project Flux (Future Living Urban eXperience) in collaboration with CoESSC. Flux develops research methods to explore distant futures and to link back insights to near future experiments. Furthermore, as a researcher she is involved in the research project Future Probing: Meaningful Innovation, in which it is investigated how organizations connect future explorations with adaptive anticipatory actions in the present, in order to innovate meaningfully in today's changing world.

As an organizer, connector, sustainability expert and with a background in education, art and design (BA) as well as sustainable tourism management (MA), working in interdisciplinary projects is her second nature. She is lecturer and coordinator of Future Lab at Communication & Media Design with extensive experience in education development. Furthermore, as a researcher she is involved in the research project Future Probing: Meaningful Innovation, in which is investigated how organizations connect future explorations with adaptive anticipatory actions in the present, in order to innovate meaningfully in today's changing world.

Future thinking is her second nature, nature is her primary source of inspiration. In addition to her work at the University of Applied Sciences Utrecht (HU) she is a video artist and sustainability consultant.
