CoGET

Developing communities of globally engaged teachers
  • Project
  • September 2025 – August 2028
In the context of teacher education, CoGET (an Erasmus+ KA220 project) aims at developing pedagogically mentored contexts for diverse communities of pre-service teachers (PSTs). In a virtual space, PSTs with different national, linguistic, disciplinary and cultural backgrounds collaboratively design inclusive pedagogy to be used in increasingly multilingual and multicultural primary and secondary education classrooms.

Objective

The project yields a context-embedded innovative inclusive pedagogical approach, to which global citizenship and intercultural competence are central, to be used in diverse primary and secondary classrooms.

"CoGET is a highly promising project that offers strong potential to make a significant and sustainable contribution to teacher education across Europe and beyond"

Reviewer Erasmus+

Results

CoGET delivers three key outcomes:

  • a sustainable international network of globally engaged teachers who effectively teach diverse classrooms;
  • context-embedded activities for inclusive pedagogy;
  • enhanced connections between teacher education and the professional field

Duration

01 September 2025 - 31 August 2028

Approach

In an innovative tailormade 3D virtual environment, PSTs are pedagogically mentored by professionalized teacher educators and experts who employ Challenged-Based Learning to address global issues like social justice and migration.

Impact for education

The CoGET project addresses enhances the quality of teacher education by fostering globally engaged and inclusive learning environments. It focuses on developing a European network of student teachers through transnational professional learning communities and strengthening intercultural competence, supporting educators in managing diverse, multicultural classrooms. The project builds on solid institutional expertise and research-based pedagogical models, integrating 3D virtual professional learning communities (VirtualPLCs) to simulate inclusive teaching scenarios. It strongly promotes EU values such as diversity, inclusion and equality, aligning well with broader educational and societal goals.
