Energy poverty and liveability of neighbourhoods are major socio-economic challenges. They pose a complex task for policy officers working in urban neigbourhoods. There is a need for better understanding of the profession of policy makers and their relation to homeowners. In a development and innovation project future-proof renovation with integrated quality assurance aiming to make future-proof renovation of homeowners' properties affordable on a large scale, we appreciatively inquire into the role of municipal policymakers. First insights show the importance of a comprehensive approach from different policy areas, collaboration and aligning interests between professionals, and trustworthiness towards homeowners while grant conditions are subject to change.
