Summary

This study investigates the intersection of digital transformation and cybersecurity by analyzing professional perspectives on emerging technologies. Using the updated NIST Cybersecurity Framework (version 2 (NIST CSF, 2024)) as a foundation, the research employs a structured survey to assess cybersecurity risks and organizational readiness. Responses from 124 professionals across various sectors reveal critical insights into risk perception, incident experiences, and sector-specific awareness levels. The findings highlight a gap between perceived awareness and actual preparedness, highlighting the importance of integrating technical solutions with human-centered approaches. Unlike broader studies, this research focuses on six specific cybersecurity domains outlined by the NIST CSF (2024), offering a more detailed view of organizational strengths and weaknesses. This targeted approach enhances the understanding of cybersecurity maturity and underscores that awareness alone is insufficient. As digitalization accelerates through AI and IoT, proactive and adaptive strategies are essential to bridging the gap between knowledge and effective action in safeguarding digital infrastructures.
