Emma Verwaaijen

Researcher

Emma Verwaaijen has been a postdoctoral researcher at the "Moving, Growing and Thriving together" research group at Hogeschool Utrecht since 2023. She is originally a paediatric physical therapist and clinical epidemiologist. Since 2018, Emma has been working as a paediatric physical therapist-researcher at the Prinses Máxima Center for Pediatric Oncology in Utrecht, where she completed her PhD in 2023 on the topic of physical vulnerability in children with cancer.

At Hogeschool Utrecht, Emma is involved in the project In Motion: Pediatric Physiotherapist 2040. This project explores the competencies pediatric physical therapists need to facilitate behavior change related to physical activity in children and their families, as well as how these competencies can be developed.
