Imke Suir MSc graduated in Human Movement Sciences at the University of Groningen. After following the abbreviated programme in Physiotherapy in Utrecht, she completed a degree programme in Paediatric Physiotherapy and subsequently developed her skills in both primary care and rehabilitation as a paediatric physiotherapist.
Her combined experience as a movement scientist and paediatric physiotherapist led to her appointment in 2014 as a junior researcher within the GODIVA project. In 2016, Imke received an NWO lecturer grant for her GODIVA_PIT doctoral research project. In addition to conducting research, Imke has been a lecturer since 2014 for minor Child and Motor Development and the minor Child in Motion. Imke Suir also teaches for the OZA course (development-oriented research with the AIMS).
By combining research and teaching, Imke is able to include both bachelor and master students in her research project. In addition, it is possible for students to further their studies by obtaining points for their contribution to the research via the Honours programme.
