Johanna van der Borden

J.M. (Johanna) van der Borden MEd (1964) has been a part-time researcher (0.2 FTE) for the Research group Literacy since September 2016. She is also associated with the Archimedes Institute for 0.6 FTE.

Within the research group, she is responsible for shaping the ‘DENK!’ (‘THINK!’) programme for secondary education. The aim of this programme is to strengthen both unconscious and conscious processes of understanding that play a role in reading skills. Johanna examines whether this particular approach can contribute to the quality of the curriculum of the Dutch teacher-training bachelor programme.

Johanna has been a Dutch teacher-trainer at the Archimedes Institute since January 2006. She lectures in both the bachelor's and master's degree programmes. Since August 2017, she has been responsible for the entire curriculum of the bachelor's degree in Dutch.
