Moniek Zuurbier

Researcher

Moniek Zuurbier has been a researcher at the Research group Working with Mandated Clients, and a lecturer in the graduation phase of the Law degree programme since March 2018. Between 2009 and 2018, she worked as a lecturer in Law at the SJD. In 2015-2016, she participated in practical research at central and northern Netherlands ZSM workplaces. The latter research formed the basis for the Ruim Baan research project.

During her work as a police volunteer, she became interested in criminal law and the judicial framework. After her studies, Zuurbier worked as a public prosecutor at the OM in Arnhem, and later as a lawyer with a specialisation in (juvenile) criminal law.

During her various positions and tasks, Zuurbier experienced the value and impact of the “research-education-work” triangle. It is for this reason that she likes to work in a practice-based research environment within the legal and judicial framework.
