Dr. Vanessa Hollaar has been working since 2024 as a senior researcher within the researchgroup of Innovations in Preventive Care. As a researcher, she is involved in projects within OrangeHealth and the RAAK Project "Dat Smaakt Naar Meer." She combines her role as a researcher with a position as an Associate Professor at the education of Dental Hygiene.

In 2001, she graduated as a dental hygienist, followed by a master's in Clinical Psychology. In 2017, Vanessa completed her doctoral research in nursing homes on oral care, swallowing problems, and pneumonia. Over the past years, she investigated the collaboration between dietitians and dental hygienists, addressing socioeconomic health disparities, and enhancing dental care accessibility.
Vanessa aims to improve collaboration between dental hygienists and other healthcare and welfare professionals. She looks beyond the paramedical domain, aiming to reduce socioeconomic health disparities and promote interprofessional collaboration.
