Corona update 27 March 2020

We have all been home for two weeks now, as a result of the corona crisis. And we notice that the HU community is devoted in helping, advising and supporting each other. We will keep doing this, also in the near future. Follow #wijzijnHU on social media and see how we do this.

On behalf of the Executive Board, chairman Jan Bogerd, also on account of his fellow board members Tineke Zweed and Wilma Scholten op Reimer, would like to send everyone a message of support.

Do you have another question?

See our Q&A page for more Coronavirus-related questions and answers.

We get a lot of questions about paying tuition fees. Since education continues, now remotely, and students can continue their studies, there is no reason to change this. The financial consequences for students are also the subject of discussion between the Association of Universities of Applied Sciences and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW).

For students who are experiencing financial difficulties, it is possible to temporarily increase your loan per month from DUO (Education Implementation Service). This can also be done retroactively, up to the beginning of the academic year. Students can also still apply for tuition fee credit. Students can arrange this themselves in my DUO. For any questions contact DUO.

Finally

We try to minimize the impact of the corona crisis. We will have to arrange and devise a lot for this, such as how the tests are organized, which alternative tests we can develop in a short time and how we can organise graduation projects. We are working on this every day and are quickly coming up with concrete solutions.
