Artros: real-time feedback in knee osteoartritis
Therapy adherence is often low among patients with knee osteoarthritis. This negatively impacts treatment outcomes, as the level of therapy adherence affects treatment results significantly. Real-time feedback on gait patterns using sensor technology can increase therapy adherence, as patients receive the right feedback on the right moment.
Objective
Within the Artros project, user requirements and preferences are being assessed. This involves gathering input from physiotherapists, and patients with knee osteoarthritis regarding sensor technology used for real-time feedback on gait patterns. The goal is to explore the feasibility of distinguishing between favourable and unfavourable gait patterns by wearing a motion sensor.

Approach
To identify user requirements and preferences, focus group meetings are conducted with physiotherapists and patients with knee osteoarthritis. The potential of sensor technology is investigated through a cross-sectional study, measuring healthy participants and patients with knee osteoarthritis while executing various walking patterns.
