Summary

You may be wondering what the final chapter of our book will be about. Will it have all the answers? Is there a right career path to choose from? Unfortunately, not. Instead, rather than drawing conclusions of authors’ shared vulnerabilities and deep personal reflections, this chapter calls for action and change. Everyone can play a role in this change, whatever this means to you at this point in your academic career. May it be small, or big, may it be passive or active, what we should acknowledge is that some people may need a helping hand, maybe through someone holding their hands to lift other people up. It should be a balancing act. Where we do have an answer to in this chapter is that collectively we can rewrite our stories together by unifying and connecting the missing parts to create a collective thread.
