Els Overkamp

Researcher

Els Overkamp, together with Jean-Pierre Wilken, leads the professorship in Participation, Care, and Support. She investigates the collaboration between vulnerable citizens, informal care, professionals, and policy: how can we better combine forces to improve the quality of life and coexistence? 

Els is a political scientist and has obtained a doctorate in a study on the integration of people with intellectual disabilities in the nineties. She was previously employed as executive secretary at a Public Health Service (GGD), consultant in nursing and care, and senior lecturer at the Social Work department of Utrecht University of Applied Sciences.
