Expertise

  • Work relationships and friendship
  • The (un)managerial nature of organizations
  • Relational and collective leadership

In 2021, De Kunst van het Onmaakbare was published, a description of the (un)manageability of organizations and a search for alternative values for collaboration. In his current project, Cultivating Connections, he explores friendship at work: what it is, when it emerges, and its advantages and disadvantages. In this project, he examines how friendships contribute to collective goods – such as social safety and inclusion – and to the (re)shaping of organizations and leadership.

"Friendship underlines the essential insight that our lives – and our continued existence – depend on support, cooperation, and our ability to connect with others."
