Jorien van der Laan

Jorien van der Laan is programme manager of the SPRONG group PREVENT and coordinator of the Knowledge Platform Utrecht Sociaal (kUS). She has been working at HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht since 2024 and is affiliated with the Research Group for Debt and Debt Collection as a senior researcher.

Jorien obtained her doctorate with a cohort study on homelessness in the four largest Dutch cities. In her work, she connects research, education and professional practice: as a community-based lecturer at HU Healthy & Well in Overvecht she supervises students in the community, and through her programmes she works on translating knowledge into regional practice.
