Marissa Berk

Researcher
Marissa works as a junior researcher within the research group Human Experience & Media Design. She has a Master of Arts in Data-driven Design and focuses on UX research within HEMD. 
 

Marissa is originally from the United States, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Advertising and Digital Arts & Sciences from the College of Journalism and Communications at the University of Florida. Next to her activities within the research group Marissa teaches data research for the bachelor Journalism and critical thinking and data studies for the master Data-driven Design.

Marissa focuses on user centred research and data informed ethnography. Her research interests spread across a variety of topics ranging from improving GDPR knowledge for game developers to researching time use and time pressure for overworked individuals. What remains at the core of Marissa’s focus is ensuring that research methods and tools are developed with the user’s needs at the forefront.
