Maritza Serna started working as a teacher and researcher at the Sustainable Communities lectorate since August 2024. She focuses on participatory processes and health prevention within the asylum center through sports and games. She does this in collaboration with ‘Gezond & Wel’ and with an interdisciplinary group of students.
Maritza has worked as a researcher and social psychologist with youth under the care of Child Protection Services in Colombia, where she focused on participatory processes and the restoration of their rights. She holds a master's degree in Social Psychology from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, and a master's degree in Community Development from Hogeschool Utrecht.
