Dementia profoundly affects everyday life, for those living with it and for the people around them. What often begins with small changes can grow into a reality filled with uncertainty, questions, and loss. But what is it really like to live with dementia, from the inside? This doctoral thesis, A New Horizon, offers a fresh and deeply human perspective. Drawing on both personal life experience and research, it brings forward the voices of people with dementia themselves, together with those close to them. In collaboration with Brain Power, a co-researcher group of people with dementia, this study presents a unique and powerful insight into everyday life with dementia. This thesis invites a different way of seeing. Not only what is lost, but also what remains, and how people continue to find their way in everyday life, even in the face of profound change.
