Multiple value creation has been widely studied in Western contexts, but scholarly attention to Africa remains limited, despite the critical role of entrepreneurship in advancing sustainable development across the continent. In the African business context, multiple value creation refers to businesses that pursue economic, social, and environmental objectives simultaneously. This edited volume examines how African firms leverage technology and digitalisation to foster inclusive growth and societal transformation. Building on longstanding international and interdisciplinary collaborations, the contributions provide empirical insights from diverse African countries and business sectors. The chapters are organised around three main themes: (1) digitalisation and technology-driven entrepreneurship, (2) multiple value creation and sustainable development, and (3) financial inclusion, empowerment, and social transformation. The findings demonstrate that African entrepreneurship transcends profit maximisation, embedding innovation within local cultures and ecologies. Consequently, African businesses constitute both a laboratory for theorizing inclusive development and a field of practice where innovation intersects with pressing societal challenges.
