Diede Wiegerinck has been working as a researcher within the research group New Energy in the City and as a lecturer in Mechanical Engineering since September 2025. He is involved in simulating, modeling, and experimenting with installations. Within the broader theme of the energy transition.

Diede studied Mechanical Engineering (BSc) and the master's program Next Level Engineering (MSc) at Hogeschool Utrecht. He combines his technical expertise with practice-oriented research within the research group New Energy in the City. Since 2021, he has been guiding students in innovative projects. In 2024, he was a finalist in the HBO Held competition.
