Dr. Elske van den Boom-Muilenburg is as senior researcher and head teacher connected to the research group Driving Educational Change. Her research focuses on learning networks, social capital, evidence-informed change and leadership. She does this in, with and for practice use.

After completing the Academic Teacher Training for Primary Education (ATPE) and the research master Educational Sciences: Learning in Interaction, Elske worked as a PhD candidate at the University of Twente for four years. She researched the role of leadership in schools that work sustainably on educational development with professional learning communities.
