Jacob Nouta

PhD candidate

Jacob has been working as a researcher within the research group Epistemic Agency since March 2024. He conducts (PhD) research on epistemic agency of higher professional education teachers. His work focuses on the challenges teachers encounter when creating the knowledge they need to act effectively in complex professional situations. More specifically, his research examines how teachers can be supported in this process and explores ways to strengthen their epistemic agency.

As a work and organizational psychologist, Jacob is interested in the processes within work organizations. As an educationalist and HRD practitioner, he focuses on designing learning practices for (educational) professionals. In his roles as researcher and HR Policy Advisor, he brings these interests together within higher professional education. Jacob is particularly interested in how— and under what conditions— educational professionals develop and relate to their work and working environment.
