Johanna Louter - van de Haar

Researcher

Johanna has been affiliated with HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht since 2006. She mainly conducts research into the toxicity or effectiveness of (natural) substances in non-animal models, in particular with the aid of the nematode C. elegans. She also teaches within the Life Sciences programme.

Johanna studied Higher Laboratory Technology at HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht, in the disciplines of zoology and molecular biology. She then worked at Numico Research, on the development of clinical nutrition for people with diabetes, obesity or cancer. The focus of her current research is on the topic of ‘toxicity of (natural) substances.’

Quality has been a key word during her career. This pertains to the legal frameworks in the field of environment and safety, to the quality of the results achieved in her research. She also likes to invest energy in the quality of the self-development of her students or the quality of teamwork.
