Lucque Schmeitz

Lecturer-researcher

Lucque Schmeitz has been involved as a researcher with the Financial Economic Innovation research group since May 2018. Within the research group, she is participating in the research project “Financing Together, Doing Business Together,” and since September 2020, she has also been involved in the research project “Early Detection of Payment Problems in SMEs.”

Lucque obtained her Master's degree in History and Administrative Informatics in 1991 from Radboud University Nijmegen, a Bachelor's degree in Business Economics and Accountancy in 2012, and her Master’s degree in Business Administration in 2014 from the University of Amsterdam. She was an entrepreneur for more than 30 years and was involved in family businesses in the SME sector, specifically in the leisure and offshore industries.

Since 2015, she has been working as a Business Administration lecturer at Utrecht University of Applied Sciences, and more recently, she has also been involved in the Master’s program in Data-Driven Business. Drawing from her extensive experience, she (re)cognizes the challenges in the sector. Her personal drive is to use research results to develop solutions, tools, insights, and knowledge for practical application.
