Marlies de Vos works as a researcher at the Research group Vocational Education. In her doctoral research, she is investigating the process of assessing students’ entry into professional practice. She is also a member of the research project Assessment in Vocational Education.
Marlies has been working as a teacher trainer at the Archimedes Institute at HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht since 2007. She teaches for the English bachelor's degree programme and is listed in the professional register VELON. In addition to her role as teacher trainer, Marlies has accrued much experience with testing assessment, and has obtained both basic (BKE) and senior qualification examinations (SKE).
Marlies studied English language and literature at the University of Utrecht, where she obtained her doctorate in 2005. In 2006, she also acquired her first-degree teaching qualification from Utrecht University. From 2005 to 2012, she worked in secondary education as an English teacher.
