LOKET - Logistic chain management for inner-city construction
The demand for sustainably built homes in the city is high and increasing. However, every construction project creates additional transport movements with adverse consequences such as emissions, noise pollution, and traffic congestion. This project focuses on controlling logistics through chain direction and digitalization.
Objective
In this project, we investigate whether a digital twin can facilitate and enable different forms of logistics chain management.
Results
Students and researchers are creating and testing digital twins for three different projects together with companies involved. Utrecht University of Applied Sciences is building a digital twin for Cartesiusdriehoek in Utrecht.
Approach
- Development of a digital twin framework
- Development of a digital twin
- Analysis and validation
- Impact analysis on indicators such as emissions, costs and nuisance.
Education impact
Students from Built Environment, Logistics Management and ICT are challenged to investigate and create parts of a Digital Twin to optimize the construction logistics process.
