SOCORE - Social Competences for Research and Innovation Infrastructure

  • Project
  • May 2025 – April 2029

SOCORE enhances the competencies of innovation leaders in research and innovation infrastructure to boost regional innovation and interregional cooperation.

Goal

The aim of SOCORE is to create an environment that enables the development of essential social and entrepreneurial competences of innovation leaders. By investing in human capital and skills, the project bridges the gap between research, business and organisations, contributing to sustainable economic, social and ecological innovation.

SOCORE acknowledges that even the best infrastructures and EU funding have limited impact without well-developed skills. Partners therefore focus on social competences, international orientation, entrepreneurial mindset, creativity and management capabilities.

Expected Results

  • 6 policy learning events
  • 6 study visits + 6 interregional workshops
  • 6 peer reviews
  • 36 regional stakeholder meetings
  • At least 8 good practices analysed
  • At least 200 professionals strengthening their competences

Approach

The project applies co-creation and demand-driven, user-oriented open innovation. Regional diagnoses identify good practices, while international collaboration enables knowledge sharing and joint learning.

Impact

For education, SOCORE provides new insights into the competences future professionals need to address societal challenges. Students and researchers gain understanding of how social and entrepreneurial skills, alongside technological expertise, are essential for innovation. The outcomes are integrated into curricula and joint projects with the professional field.

Duration
