Edith van Ewijk works as a senior researcher Ciculair City and Region at the research group Building Future Cities. As part of the team, she focuses on various aspects of circularity, the circular economy and circular transition.

Edith is an experienced (action) researcher with expertise in sustainability transitions, system innovation, multi-stakeholder partnerships and professional- and organizational learning. She is trained as a geographer, holding a PhD at the University of Amsterdam, where she worked most of her career. She also worked at Delft Technical University and outside academia.
Edith is dedicated to contributing to circulair- and sustainability transitions by connecting research to practice and education. Transdisciplinary research and education can be instrumental to changing practices and systems.
