Rosa de Vries (1988) completed the Mechanical Engineering programme at HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht in 2016. During her education, she focused on ‘human-centred’ design by following the minor Co-Design Studio and by graduating on the Powertools project.
After graduating, Rosa started assumed a position within at the Co-design research group, where she worked on various projects and tasks, such as facilitating sessions, writing articles, supervising students and designing and creating tools and products.
"What I like about co-design is that the process is already very valuable and actually amounts to something of a project result."
After completing the Powertools project, Rosa applied for a follow-up grant to do market research for the Millow heartbeat cushion that she designed. This was a great opportunity and it has been shown that there is a lot of potential for the product. Rosa now hopes to transfer it to a company or entrepreneur who is able to bring it to market. In September 2019 she will begin with master’s degree in Design, alongside her work at Co-Design.
