Suzanne is a part-time researcher within the Research group Human Experience & Media Design, where she has worked on the ‘The Network is the Message’ project and currently focuses on factors of success for newsjacking.
Suzanne is also a lecturer for the degree specialisations Brands & Behaviour and International Commercial Communication at the HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht. The courses she provides here relate to marketing and persuasive communication.
She is also a lecturer in Corporate Communication within the Communication Science department at the University of Amsterdam (UVA). It is here that she obtained her doctoral degree in 2006, with a dissertation on information overload among employees. She supervises students with their graduation theses, both at HU and at UvA.
April 2017 saw the release of her book 'Contentmarketing', published by Noordhoff Uitgevers. It is the first higher professional education textbook on content marketing. In addition, as an independent professional, she gives talks during workshops and congresses about content marketing, hackers and influencers.
