PROOFtuin: research into one's own practice in professional learning communities
In the PROOFtuin, researchers from HU University of Applied Sciences guide educational professionals from ROC Midden Nederland to conduct research into their own educational practice. Here they examine the interventions deployed with NPO resources and learning in PLCs.
Objective
The PROOFtuin aims to develop organisation-specific knowledge about interventions deployed on the basis of NPO resources and about learning in PLCs. Based on this, the aim is to increase the investigative and collective learning capacity of education professionals.
Results
- Monitoring and evaluating initiatives that have been deployed from NPO resources, in order to guarantee them if necessary;
- Develop knowledge about learning in professional learning communities within the organization;
- Strengthening the investigative capacity of education professionals;
- Strengthening the collective learning capacity of education professionals.

Approach
The PROOFtuin consists of three PLCs, supervised by experienced researchers: two PROOFlabs and an OVERlab. In the PROOFlabs, education professionals research their own practice. In the OVERlab, education professionals investigate learning in the PROOFlabs. Each PLC consists of six sessions.
