Marieke Zielhuis

Researcher

Marieke Zielhuis MSc has been a researcher at the Research group Research Competence since the spring of 2018. Her work focuses on 'Research through Design' and the methodological challenges that arise when developing knowledge for the practice of design.

Marieke has been conducting her doctoral research with Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) since 2019. She is involved as a researcher in the research project Chiwawa: Creative & Health Innovation Ways of Working Analysis. She also works with the lecturer platform Network of Applied Design Research, which is aimed at strengthening the methodology of practice-based design research.

Trained as an Industrial Design Engineer, she has been affiliated with HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht since 2002, where she worked at the Centre for Applied Science & Technology, at UCREATE (Centre of Expertise Creative Industries) and at the Centre of Expertise Smart Sustainable Cities. She also gained experience with designing research projects in her role as project leader for the Research group Co-Design.
