Steven Nijhuis

Researcher

Steven Nijhuis MSc (1965) is performing doctoral research at Twente University under the title ‘Designing curricula to develop relevant competences for project management in higher education’.

This study focuses on designing curricula that effectively prepare students for a project management role. Key words within this study are ‘critical competences (essential, necessary)’ and ‘feasible (in line with the possibilities offered by the higher education sector)’. An important sub-question is to establish whether all sectors can be served in equal measure.

After obtaining a master’s degree in Mathematics from Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), Steven Nijhuis worked in the steel industry and construction sector. He presently works as project leader in the higher education sector and as a researcher at HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht. He is also a member of the board of IPMA-NL and bears responsibility for the Research and Education portfolio.
