Research group Technology Use in Health and Social Care
Lines of research within the research group
We study how technology can support people with (early-stage) dementia in their daily functioning, self-reliance, and participation, at home as well as in the workplace. Our focus is on technology in health and social care that aligns with the needs, skills, and living environments of citizens.
We pay particular attention to relieving and supporting informal caregivers. In addition, we examine how interdisciplinary collaboration between healthcare, social, and technical domains contributes to the successful use of technology in people’s everyday lives.
We investigate how nurses and eye care professionals can effectively use technology in their work. In doing so, we explore how technology influences their daily practice, professional identity, skills, and perceptions of their roles.
We also develop tailored implementation strategies that support the sustainable use of technology, for example in data-informed care, AI applications, and educational innovations such as game-based learning. In this way, we strengthen the skills, employability, and job satisfaction of healthcare professionals.
