Enrichment scan learning environments in higher professional education

  • Project
  • January 2025 – December 2025

In this project, we explore how to support educational institutions in enriching their own learning environments in line with their vision on education and research. To achieve this, we have co-created an enrichment scan.

Aim

We aim to help institutions identify what they already have in place and where they can enrich their learning environments at different boundaries: between school and work, education and research, different disciplines or professions, different types of programs or year levels, education and society, students and citizens/clients, people from different cultures, and between initiatives for initial education and lifelong learning.

"The enrichment scan opens up the conversation. You discover what others are doing, realize how much we already achieve, and start looking more broadly – not just at the professional field, but at new connections as well."

Results

We published a brochure (in Dutch) on enriching learning environments and, together with our internal Teaching and Learning Network, developed an enrichment scan. We share these insights internally through various knowledge-sharing sessions and externally via this page.

Duration

01 January 2025 - 31 December 2025

Approach

We are conducting an enrichment scan at three HU institutes to explore what they already have in place and what they can and want to do to enrich their learning environments. We analyze the outcomes and the experience with the scan and refine the enrichment scan based on these insights.
